Eco Dome Project

Situated just 3 miles from Giant Rock, 7 miles from the Flamingo Heights 640 resort development and 10 miles from a twin project "Joshua Tree (Geo-Dome) Camp," this new Landers glamping destination is planned to encroach upon the historic cabin of our Homestead founder, Charlie Reche, and adjacent of The Integratron, a National Register of Historic Places designated by the National Park Service.

The Project involves the construction of six (6) stand-alone geodesic domes, each with one bedroom, one full bathroom, a private outdoor deck, and a hot tub .

  • The six (6) guest domes will be 24 feet in diameter.

  • The plan also includes one (1) central communal dome which will be about 36.9 feet in diameter.

  • The domes will be constructed on and anchored to elevated wooden decks. An 80 square-footseptic tank will be installed in the northeastern section of the campground.

  • A carport with solar panels on the roof will encompass approximately 1,600 square feet of the southeastern section of the campground with a total of eight (8) 10-foot by 20-foot parking spaces.

  • At the west end of the carport will be a rainwater capture bin, generator, electrical room, refuse and recycling enclosure, and a utility room totaling approximately 200 square feet.

  • All domes will be connected with a 6-foot-wide walkway of landscape rock, lined by solar lights.

  • No site management, the property manager will be readily available at all times by phone and located in close proximity in case physical presence is needed.

  • The maximum number of guests is limited to six (6) people per site.

  • Two (2) well-behaved pets on a leash per campsite will also be permitted.

  • Additional daytime guests and onsite special events will only be permitted upon written request approval.

Town Hall Meeting

58380 Reche Road, Landers, CA, 92285

October 30, 2023 @ 5pm

Join us at the Landers Community Association's Belfield Hall for a Town Hall Meeting that stands against the ill-conceived Eco Dome 'Glamping' Project, alongside similar developments exploiting the county's unresolved development code loophole. We recognize that this project does not align with our vision for the future of our community.

This gathering is your chance to unify with fellow community members and express your concerns regarding the proliferation of unregulated "campground" projects that threaten our cherished 'Rural Living' zoned communities in the High Desert.

At this Town Hall Meeting, we will offer a platform for open discourse about the potential detrimental effects of such projects and collaboratively devise strategies to oppose them. Furthermore, we will share invaluable information and facts that will empower you to make meaningful submissions to San Bernardino County Land Use Services. The deadline for these crucial submissions is November 1st, making your attendance at this meeting time-sensitive.

Your presence is indispensable, as your support will be instrumental in preserving the essence of our community. Let us come together, voice our concerns, and take a resolute stand against these unwanted developments. We can effect change, and together, we will safeguard the unique charm of Landers and its Rural Living communities.

See you at the Town Hall Meeting!
